About this property

30 minutes from the Belgian border and 15 km from the beautiful city of Charleville-Mézières, capital of the French Ardennes, you will find this cosy holiday home. The house is fully equipped and has a spacious enclosed garden. There is a cosy wood-burning stove to enjoy during the colder days. From your terrace, you can overlook the sloping landscape and the castle of Guignicourt. Your four-legged friend is also welcome and will certainly enjoy itself in these beautiful surroundings

There is plenty to do in this beautiful wooded area, about half an hour from the Belgian border. You will find yourself in a beautiful natural environment with lovely hiking and cycling routes. Want to spend a day exploring the area? Visit the city of Charleville-Méziers, located on the river La Meuse. This city has an ancient history dating back to the year 1000. Have a coffee on the Place Ducale; once the site of the Duke's palace, this square was inspired in style by the Place des Vosges in Paris.

Visit the town of Sédan with your children. Here you will find the largest fort/castle in Europe.

Want to explore the French Ardennes by bike? The Voie Verte Trans-Ardennes consists of a 130 km waterfront cycling route.

Would you rather explore nature close to home ? From your own accommodation there is direct access to the vast forest of the Chateau de Guignicourt (800 ha)

The house was very functional and practical for a large extended family from grandparents to grandchildren. The bedrooms were more than adequate and the jacuzzi was a big hit. We had plenty of room. The dining room was big enough to accommodate us all, even if you had to push yourself a bit to get through. The only downside was that the indoor plants were all made of plastic... and the outside lawn at the back (where the terrace table, jacuzzi, sauna etc. are located) is also fake grass, which is rather badly placed and spoils the final look a bit. All in all it was a lovely weekend.

It was a spacious house with - for what had already been renovated - nicely used materials. However, the way these were installed left much to be desired. Finishing very sloppy. It smelt of sewage in the house (especially in the kitchen). Light switches that do nothing, fridge not connected to water network, new fridge with still protection of the glass plates inside, blinds were too wide for the space, window in lower bedroom difficult to open, no blackout possible in the bedrooms, what about safety electricity ?, garden shed not organised, in short sloppy maintenance - see further below

Spacious house in a quiet village with lovely views at the back. Especially that unobstructed view; we really enjoyed that! From the house you can walk straight into the forest. You can make lovely walks in the area on both paved and forest paths. The house itself and the furnishings could be improved on a number of points such as: doors that were very sticky, crockery that was not clean and it was not possible to put the car in the garage. The living room and kitchen are lower than the entrance to the house on the street side : from the hall you take the stairs down which is 11 steps. The contact person is responsive and very helpful.
