Stavoren is a sought-after spot for any water sports enthusiast. You can sail onto the IJsselmeer or explore the Frisian lakes from here. There are boats everywhere, and you can recreate in or on the water. Whether you want to swim, sail, fish, supp, canoe, windsurf or kite surf, the possibilities here are endless. Bring your own boat or rent one. If you don't want to sail yourself you can also book a canal cruise.

In the centre of Stavoren you will find some good restaurants and nice terraces. Before Amsterdam became popular, Stavoren was a Hanseatic city of great significance. As a result, you will still find beautiful old buildings and many references from that time.
