From the beginning of April to the end of October, you can take a trip on the Berkel in an old Berkelzomp (flatboat). You can sail along individually or hire the boat for the whole group. Or explore the area by canoe and spot kingfishers along the way. Nature lovers should definitely visit Zwillbrocker Venn, just across the border in Germany. It is home to unusual birds, such as the flamingo. Culture lovers can indulge themselves during a visit to fortified town Groenlo (Grolsch) or book town Bredevoort. Finally, there are several interesting museums worth visiting. In short: a wonderful place for the perfect family weekend
