Authentic elements, such as the large fireplaces, beamed ceilings, and wooden floors, have been preserved, and the entire interior has been adapted accordingly, but with contemporary comfort.

The village of Marminiac is small, but Cazals is nearby and has all the facilities, a fine bakery, restaurants, and a cozy market on Sundays. There is also a large lake where you can hire pedal boats and swim.

Villefranche du Périgord is an old Bastide with a pretty town square, a good restaurant, several shops, and a covered market.

Visit the towns of Domme, which offers stunning views over the Dordogne valley, and, of course, Sarlat, which has its Saturday morning market
