Hiking trails such as to the Rappbodetalsperre dam or the Brocken mountain start almost on the doorstep. Mountain biking, forest walks and cave visits are also popular. Excursion tips: Titan-RT suspension bridge, Rübeländer stalactite caves, Harz narrow-gauge railway and the historic old town of Wernigerode
