Nyons itself, often referred to as the heart of the Drôme Provençale, is one of those places where you naturally linger a bit longer. Wander through the narrow streets, stroll across the ancient Roman bridge, and enjoy a good glass of wine on a terrace. On Thursday mornings, the Provençal market brings color and cheer to the town center, featuring local olives, lavender products, cheese, and other regional specialties.

There is plenty to discover beyond Nyons as well. Cycle through the rolling landscape dotted with olive groves, vineyards, or the fragrant lavender fields. Venture into the Baronnies Provençales for a beautiful trek through the mountains. The area surrounding Nyons is wonderfully varied, with peaceful country lanes, impressive mountain landscapes, and ravines.

For a day trip, places like Buis-les-Baronnies, Vaison-la-Romaine, and Grignan are highly recommended.
