Westendorf is a great ski resort for families, beginners, and intermediate skiers, as the slopes tend to favour these levels. It is also attractive to adventurous skiers looking for fun parks and a handful of off-piste routes. Westendorf alone has over 40 pisted runs, and about half are suited to intermediate skiers. Skiers can also access the entire SkiWelt area, giving them access to over 200km of pisted runs and much more variety.
Lifts and Queues
Westendorf has 14 lifts, including a variety of chairlifts, cable cars, and small drag and button lifts for beginners. Skiers who purchase the SkiWelt pass can have access to a wider ski area with a total of 81 lifts. All lifts are well designed with visitors in mind, so it's easy to move from one resort to another and enjoy the interconnected ski areas.
Special features
Westendorf has 2 fun parks, and they are quite well known in the area for their variety. The Mini playground is designed with kids in mind, making it a fun and safe place for children to play and learn to use smaller jumps. Then there is the Big playground, designed for adults and enthusiasts, located at the Gampenkogel lift. There is a good selection of rails and boxes, and there is even a lounge where you can chill and watch the freestylers outside.
The resort is accommodating to people with disabilities, and many of the larger cable cars are adapted to carry wheelchairs. Many of the ski shops, if not in Westendorf, but in the SkiWelt,lt offer adaptive ski equipment.

As mentioned, Westendorf doesn't offer many off-piste opportunities. Still, for those looking for a powder experience, it is best to check out the Choralpe and Talkaser areas, where you will find steep descents and the chance to carve between the pisted runs and powdery slopes. It is best to take a guide as weather conditions can change and routes can be dangerous for inexperienced off-piste skiers.
Backcountry skiing
The SkiWelt area is great for backcountry skiing, with access to a wide variety of routes and powdery descents, but it is best to take a guide. Because the area is so large, it's easy to get lost, especially when moving between resorts. Since Westendorf doesn't have many backcountry options, you will likely be exploring larger areas.
Ski touring
